Ethics for the new Millennium

An excellent book, which everyone should read. While I have a deep respect for Buddhism, I'm not religious. The Dalai Lama puts a powerful case for ethical behaviour, without appealing to religious precepts, making it accessible to a secular audience.

Concepts like compassion are shown to be not only ethical, but also expedient in as much as ethical behaviour is shown to be the most advantageous way to conduct life. Humility is defined more clearly, as being not excessive modesty, but more a respect for others place in the world having equal value.

Without a doubt, if people followed the thinking, and truly understood the lessons contained within this book the world would be a better place.
